We were enjoying a quiet time and the topic of intimacy and money came to up. It’s a conversation we hear a lot that most people are trying to resolve somehow. We both work with a lot of powerful high achieving women and it seems like a big tug of war for them.
We heard a study once that what keeps a lot of people up at night first and foremost is some relationship issue, be it a problem with a spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend or lover, parent or child, or a close friend or client.
However, what’s typical for many is money because it’s spoken a lot in our culture & business… unless you’re truly in real survival it’s become a default worry for a lot of people. So those have become the top 2 issues that keep most people up at night, followed by our health and well-being.
In our experience, dealing with relationship issues, especially in a committed or intimate relationship, is one of the most challenging areas of growth a person will have… it just touches on sensitive, raw, and important parts of us. We’ve also found that there is nothing like opening into this area of life to increase your ability to be fully satisfied in your business, your purpose, and in your relationship to money.
Running a business and making money can bring up challenges surprisingly similar to creating a relationship that works, and vice versa. With very little exception, one rarely fully thrives in one area when the other isn’t working. And our experience has been that, especially with women, the deepest heart longing is in the area of relationship.
If you’re a woman, feel into that and see.
So in these two important areas of life, we invariably run into mild to deep dissatisfaction about something. It’s so common it’s almost expected. What do you do? How do you handle it so it’s not handling you?
Open into it.
There’s a way to relate to those difficulties and turn them into gold. If this is important to you, take the time to really lean into those dissatisfactions.
Lean into the information from the heart.
In intimacy or committed relationship, it takes real deep leaning… similarly, if you look at your biggest money blocks and stops, it also requires deep leaning. The message is inside, avoidance will not truly give us what we desire.
So, intimacy or money? We say both!
If you don’t have what you want, there’s something you don’t understand or don’t know. That’s good news! It’s giving you a clue as to what you do want, and it’s up to you to go get it!
